Born in Taipei, and immigrating to New Zealand when he was young, Joe has made New Zealand is home. As a graduate of the Pacific International Hotel Management School, he has achieved distinction as a and highly respected Sommelier. Over the last 20 years Joe’s career has seen hold senior sommelier roles in major hotels, fine-dining restaurants, elite private clubs and working alongside Michelin chefs in Sydney, Auckland, and Hawkes Bay. These experiences and dedication to the art of wine, saw Joe further achieve Certificed Sommelier status, WSET qualifications and represent New Zealand, competing against some of the best Sommeliers on the international stage. In 2015, Joe embarked on unique consulting engagement, bringing the Wine Cave NZ to the market and establishing its presence as a leading purveyor of the best of New Zealand wines, spirits and beers, and successfully developed its loyalty membership base, as well as building a network of trusted contacts with 165 boutique wineries throughout New Zealand.
